White lake is one of four largest fluvial lakes in Serbia. It is located in Banat, southwest of Ečka, south of Zrenjanin. The lake lies between the river Tisza and Begej, from which was partitioned mound. By embankment it is separeted from the Special Nature Reserve Carska Bara.
The surface area is 5.4 square kilometers, and the average depth is 1.33 meters. Due to high summer temperatures there is intensive evaporation. Vertical and horizontal movements of water are poorly expressed but there is no mixing of water which leads to strong thermal stratification. White lake is rich in fish.Šandor Šomođi was first to use it as fishpond in 1762.
